TRICONEX 3805E covers communication protocols and data exchange formats

The NFC standard covers communication protocols and data exchange formats, and is based on existing RFID standards, including ISO/IEC 14443 and FeliCa. These standards include standards defined by ISO/IEC 18092 and NFC forums.

ISO/IEC

NFC has been standardized in ECMA-340 and ISO/IEC 18092. These standards specify the modulation scheme, encoding, transmission speed, and frame format of the RF interface of NFC devices, as well as the initialization scheme and the conditions required for data conflict control during the initialization process, which are applicable to both passive and active NFC modes. They also define transmission protocols, including protocol activation and data exchange methods. The air interface of NFC has been standardized in the following aspects:

ISO/IEC 18092/ECMA-340- Near Field Communication Interface and Protocol 1 (NFCIP-1)

ISO/IEC 21481/ECMA-352- Near Field Communication Interface and Protocol 2 (NFCIP-2)

NFC combines various existing standards, including ISO/IEC 14443 Class A and Class B standards, as well as FeliCa. NFC enabled phones work on top of existing readers. In card simulation mode, NFC devices should transmit at least one unique ID number to the card reader. In addition, the NFC forum has defined a universal data format called NFC Data Exchange Format (NDEF), which can store and transfer items from any MIME type object to ultra short RTD documents, such as URLs. The NFC forum has added the Simple NDEF Exchange Protocol (SNEP) to the specification that allows sending and receiving messages between two NFC devices

GSMA

The GSM Association (GSMA) is a trade association representing nearly 800 mobile phone operators and over 200 product and service companies from 219 countries/regions. Many of its members have led NFC experiments and are preparing services for commercial release.
