ABB DI840
ABB DI840 Digital Input Module
Product Description
The ABB DI840 is a high – performance digital input module designed for industrial automation systems. It is part of the ABB Symphony Plus distributed control system (DCS), which is widely used in power generation, oil and gas, and other process industries. This module provides reliable and accurate monitoring of digital signals from field devices, such as switches, sensors, and relays. It converts these signals into digital data that can be processed by the control system, enabling real – time monitoring and control of industrial processes.

The DI840 module features 16 isolated digital input channels, each of which can be individually configured to accept different types of input signals. It supports both sinking and sourcing input configurations, providing flexibility in connecting to various field devices. The module also includes built – in signal conditioning and filtering circuits, which help to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the input signals. Additionally, it provides diagnostic functions that allow for the detection and reporting of faults or abnormal conditions in the input channels.
The DI840 module is designed for easy installation and integration into industrial control systems. It is compatible with the ABB Symphony Plus controller platform and can be connected to other modules and devices using standard communication protocols. The module also supports hot – swapping, which allows for maintenance and replacement without interrupting the operation of the control system. This feature helps to minimize downtime and improve the overall reliability of the industrial automation system.
