The TRICONEX 3636R is an advanced redundant analog output module engineered for TRICONEX TMR safety systems, perfectly suited for applications demanding SIL 3 certification. In an oil refinery’s distillation column pressure control system, this module takes digital pressure setpoints from the safety controller and converts them into 4-20mA analog signals to control the opening and closing of pressure relief valves. This ensures that the column pressure remains within the safe range (e.g., 0.5-2.5 MPa). Its unique redundant structure, consisting of three independent processing channels and dual output circuits, offers exceptional fault tolerance. When a primary channel or output encounters a failure, the redundant path switches over in less than 5ms, avoiding any disruption to the distillation process and preventing potential overpressure accidents.
In a chemical plant’s batch reaction system, the 3636R module provides precise analog signals to the heating system’s variable frequency drives, maintaining the reactor temperature within ±0.3°C of the target value.
