The GE VMIVME – 4140 is a high – performance analog output module engineered for VME bus systems, playing a crucial role in industrial automation applications. This module is designed to accurately convert digital signals into analog outputs, making it an essential component in various control systems.
In industrial scenarios such as manufacturing plants, the VMIVME – 4140 is utilized to precisely control analog – based actuators. For instance, in a chemical manufacturing facility, it can regulate the flow rate of chemical substances by controlling the opening and closing of valves through analog output signals. In power generation plants, the module can adjust the voltage and frequency of generators, ensuring stable power output.
It features 32 high – quality analog output channels, each equipped with a dedicated 12 – bit digital – to – analog converter (DAC). This configuration enables the module to provide highly accurate analog outputs. The module can source or sink 10 mA of current at ±10 V voltage, offering sufficient driving capability for a wide range of industrial devices.
The VMIVME – 4140 also comes with a range of functions that enhance its usability and reliability. It supports automatic calibration, which can be initiated by a VMEbus system reset or through the execution of a software command.
