The TRICON 3008 is a Main Processor (MP) module used in the Triconex Tricon safety and control systems. The Tricon is a fault-tolerant controller utilizing Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) architecture for high-integrity, error-free, and uninterrupted process operation in safety-critical applications. The 3008 MP serves as the central processing unit of the Triconex system, responsible for managing and executing control algorithms, data processing, and system operations. It independently communicates with the I/O subsystem and executes the user-written control program in parallel with the other two redundant channels in a fully triplicated system.
