Product Name
ENTERASYS A2H254 – 16 P0973BK SecureStack A2 Fast Ethernet Switch Module
Product Description
The ENTERASYS A2H254 – 16 P0973BK is a high – performance Ethernet switch module engineered to meet the demands of industrial and enterprise networking environments. This module serves as a crucial component for building reliable and efficient local area networks (LANs).
It offers a total of 16 ports, which include eight 100BASE – T 10/100 Mbps copper RJ45 ports. These ports are ideal for connecting devices such as computers, servers, and other network – enabled equipment that use copper – based Ethernet cables. The copper ports are numbered from 1 – 15 (odd – numbered), providing a convenient and standardized connection interface.

Complementing the copper ports, there are eight 100BASE – FX multimode MT – RJ ports (even – numbered 2 – 16). The 100BASE – FX ports are designed for fiber – optic connections, which are highly suitable for applications that require longer transmission distances and enhanced immunity to electromagnetic interference. This makes it possible to connect devices over greater distances within a network, such as between different buildings in a campus – style network setup.
The module also features two SFP (Small Form – Factor Pluggable) slots, labeled as port 19 and 20. These slots offer the flexibility to install SFP transceivers, which can be used for various purposes. For instance, they can be used for copper – based connections compliant with the 1000BASE – T standard, enabling high – speed 1000 Mbps data transfer over copper cables. Additionally, SFP transceivers can be used for fiber – optic connections such as 1000BASE – SX/LX, providing options for both short – and long – distance high – speed optical communication.
