Delta Tau: Expansion Board (ACC 24E2A)

ACC-24E2A is a shaft expansion board that provides 2 or 4 channels of PMAC2 servo interface circuits for UMAC and Ultralite/MACRO station controllers

ACC-24E2A is part of the UMAC or MACRO Pack series expansion cards, which are designed to plug into industrial 3U rack systems.

Note: Many functions of ACC-24E2A are the same as other accessories in the ACC-24E2 series; These common features are referred to as ACC-24E2x in this manual.

Up to 8 ACC-24E2A boards can be connected to one UMAC, providing up to 32 additional servo interface circuit channels. The 16 axis MACRO CPU can support 4 ACC-24E2x cards, and the 8 axis MACRO CPU can support 2 ACC-24E2x cards.

The ACC-24E2x board does not include a processor; It has a highly integrated 4-channel PMAC2 servo IC, surrounded by buffering circuits and connectors. Insert the two axis ACC-24E2x into the backplane and use one slot in the rack. If two more axes are required, option 1 of ACC-24E2x can be inserted into the ACC-24E2x connector. The ACC-24E2x with Option 1 card occupies a total of two slots. Some new features in the ACC-24E2x distribution board series include:

The ACC-24E2A board can be used with any UMAC or MACRO Station CPU and connected through an expansion port

ACC-24E2A supports multiple servo and stepper interfaces:

Analog+/-10V speed command

Simulate+/-10V torque command

Sinusoidal simulation+/-10V phase current command

Pulse and direction commands

Board configuration

ACC-24E2A comes standard with a servo IC that provides four servo interface channels, which are led out on the terminal block (standard) or DB15 connector. Each channel of the servo interface circuit includes the following:

Two sets of output command signals can be configured as:

One pulse and direction

Two DAC outputs

3-channel differential/single ended encoder input

Eight input flags and two output flags

Option 1A: Provide circuits and input/output connectors for the third and fourth channels associated with the servo IC on the main ACC-24E2A. The command signal for this option is ± 10V.
