ABB PM866AK01
Product Description
The ABB PM866AK01 is a high – performance processor unit designed for the AC 800M control system. It serves as a core component in industrial automation setups, enabling complex control tasks and real – time data processing.
The module’s CPU board is equipped with a microprocessor and 64 MB of RAM, ensuring efficient handling of control logic and data storage. It also features a real – time clock for accurate time – stamping of operations, LED indicators for quick status monitoring, an init push button for system initialization, and a compact flash interface for data storage and transfer.
The base plate of the PM866AK01 has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) that are used to connect to the control network, facilitating seamless communication with other devices in the network. Additionally, there are two RJ45 serial ports (COM3, COM4). The COM3 port is an RS – 232C port with modem control signals, while the COM4 port is isolated and is typically used for connecting a configuration tool. This controller supports CPU redundancy, which significantly enhances the system’s availability. In case of a failure in the primary CPU, the standby CPU can take over operations within a short time, ensuring continuous operation of critical processes. This redundancy applies to the CPU itself, the CEX – bus, communication interfaces, and S800 I/O.
With its modular design, the PM866AK01 allows for step – by – step expansion, making it suitable for various – scale industrial applications. It can be easily configured using the 800xa Control Builder software, which provides a user – friendly interface for programming and setting up control strategies. The controller also has full EMC (Electro – Magnetic Compatibility) certification, ensuring that it can operate reliably in environments with electromagnetic interference.
