Baikalai has now equipped its mobile machinery dedicated PC with B&R Hypervisor software. This enables it to be used as both a high-performance controller and a Windows or Linux PC, enabling smart agricultural applications to be implemented using only a single device.
The General Operating System (GPOS) and real-time operating system are connected through virtual network interfaces. For example, Windows software with cloud connectivity can be used to calculate the optimal route that mobile machines need to follow, and real-time operating systems will transform this information into specific commands specific to the drive. Combining two operating systems on one device reduces device costs. It also facilitates a more compact design and enables more effective utilization of existing hardware resources.
