The ABB PM583 – ETH is a key CPU processor module in ABB’s AC500 PLC series, tailored for medium-complexity industrial automation scenarios. It combines fast data processing capabilities, diverse communication interfaces, and flexible expansion features to serve as the core of automation systems. With a total memory capacity of 2MB (1MB for user programs and 1MB for user data), it can smoothly accommodate complex control logic and multi-task operation requirements.

This module is equipped with a 10/100M Ethernet interface, two configurable RS232/RS485 serial ports, and an FBP (Fieldbus Plug) interface. The Ethernet interface supports protocols such as Modbus TCP, IEC60870 – 5 – 104 and integrates a Web server, enabling remote monitoring and control. Its COM1 port comes with a built-in CS31 master station function to support distributed I/O expansion. Additionally, it has an LCD display and 8 function keys for real-time display of operating parameters and quick troubleshooting.

It also supports SD card data storage and program backup, and can work with up to 4 external communication modules simultaneously. It can be extended to connect to 10 I/O modules, which is compatible with S500/S500 – eCo modules, making it suitable for automation control tasks in packaging machinery, solar tracking systems, tunnel monitoring, and metallurgical chemical equipment.
