The TRICON (Triconex) 3009 is a high-integrity enhanced main processor module (EMPM/UMP) for Triconex triple-modular redundant (TMR) safety instrumented systems (SIS), designed for safety-critical applications such as emergency shutdown (ESD), fire & gas (F&G), and burner management systems (BMS) in oil & gas, power generation, petrochemicals, and refining. It features a dual-core industrial CPU with enhanced processing power, redundant memory with error correction, and high-speed Tribus backplane communication to support deterministic control and fast fault detection/isolation. Compatible with Tricon v10.0+ (typically v11.x and later), it interfaces with TriStation 1131 for programming, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet, and RS-232 for integration with SCADA, DCS, and other controllers.
