TRICONEX 2755
TRICONEX 2755 Safety Input Module (serves as a “critical safety barrier” in industrial safety instrumented systems (SIS), specializing in the acquisition and processing of safety-related input signals. With triple-modular redundancy (TMR) architecture and high reliability, it ensures accurate monitoring of hazardous process conditions in industries such as oil & gas, chemical processing, and nuclear power)
Product Description
The TRICONEX 2755 is a high-integrity safety input module designed for use in TRICONEX TMR safety systems, which are widely deployed in applications requiring SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) certification. In a refinery’s hydrocracker unit, this module continuously monitors critical safety inputs such as high-pressure alarms, flame detector signals, and emergency shutdown (ESD) pushbuttons. It employs TMR technology, where three identical channels process input signals independently and vote on the result, ensuring fault tolerance—even if one channel fails, the module maintains accurate signal acquisition without compromising safety.
In a chemical plant’s reactor system, the 2755 module interfaces with toxic gas detectors and temperature high-limit sensors, converting their analog or digital signals into data usable by the safety logic solver. Its advanced filtering capabilities eliminate electrical noise and transient signals, preventing false trips that could disrupt production. The module features diagnostic functions that continuously self-check for faults (e.g., open circuits, short circuits) and communicate these to the system controller, enabling predictive maintenance and reducing unplanned downtime. With hot-swappable design, it can be replaced during operation without interrupting the safety system, ensuring continuous protection of personnel, equipment, and the environment.
