AB 1769-PA4
Product Description
The Allen – Bradley 1769 – PA4 is a power supply module designed for the CompactLogix system by Rockwell Automation. It plays a crucial role in providing stable power to the overall system and its connected I/O modules.
- Power Provision for System Components
- This module is responsible for supplying power to the CompactLogix I/O modules. It has a selectable input voltage range, which allows it to adapt to different power sources. The input voltage can be set to either 85 – 265 VAC or 170 – 265 VAC, with a nominal input of 120 V/220 VAC. This wide input voltage range makes it suitable for use in various industrial environments around the world.
- It provides power at multiple output voltages. Specifically, it can supply 4 A at 5 VDC and 2 A at 24 VDC. These output voltages are essential for powering different types of components within the CompactLogix system. For example, the 5 – VDC output may be used to power digital logic circuits in I/O modules, while the 24 – VDC output can be utilized to drive sensors, actuators, and other field devices connected to the I/O modules.
- Reliability and Protection Features
- Built with high – quality electronic components and advanced circuit design, the 1769 – PA4 offers high reliability. It is engineered to minimize power fluctuations and ensure a stable power supply to the connected modules. This stability is crucial for the proper functioning of the overall automation system, as any power – related issues could lead to malfunctions or incorrect operation of the I/O modules and the equipment they control.
- The module is equipped with built – in protection mechanisms. It has over – current, over – voltage, and under – voltage protection. In case of an over – current situation, such as when a short – circuit occurs in a connected device, the protection circuit will activate to prevent damage to the power supply module and other components in the system. Similarly, over – voltage and under – voltage protection safeguard the system from abnormal input voltage conditions, which could otherwise cause damage to sensitive electronics.
